This DIY homemade hand cream recipe by Heart’s Content Farmhouse on YouTube shows how to easily make your own natural moisturizer with 4 ingredients. Some people may have their skin dry out in the winter so this is a great recipe to nourish them. This would be a great gift idea or easy project to do with your kids. The handmade cream has a thick, balm-like cream texture that will melt immediately it touches your skin. Plus, it’s a quick project that takes only a few minutes.
First, melt the oil, butter, and beeswax over a double boiler on low heat. You can melt this in the microwave too, but it’s easier on the stovetop. Then, remove from the heat and add the fragrance oil and essential oils if you are using them. Stir well until fully combined. Next, once chilled, whip the mixture with a hand mixer for about 10 minutes. If the mixture is not whipping, place the oils in the fridge for about 15 minutes and try again. Store into a seal tight container at room temperature.
Note: this can be made into a moisturizing balm by skipping the whipping process. Just melt, mix, and store. Store in the fridge if your house is too warm or the mixture will not be solid. I love homemade and natural projects because it’s great for your skin and you know what exactly is going on your skin. Also, I want to make my own hand cream because I have specific scents that I include and use in my everyday routine.
