Easy Mason Jar Crafts

1. DIY Mason Jar Diffuser

DIY Mason Jar Diffuser, a quick mason jar craft anyone can make and a budget friendly way to repurpose an old jar

We recently babysat our neighbor’s cat, who had a litter box, but until then I’m not digging having the box 3 feet from my bed and I swear I can smell it even if I clean it compulsively. I can’t sleep with the wax burner going to town so I decided to make some baking soda air fresher to keep my space smelling better even if it’s only for the benefit of my mind. And if there are nasty smells the baking soda will help soak them up. In the end, I had everything on hand so it cost me literally nothing to do this so I went after it with gusto! And guess what? At night I’m dreaming of the jasmine I used to have growing on my back porch in Wimberley, Texas.

Box Tops Mason Jar, a charming handmade gift idea and a simple craft using basic supplies on hand and it comes together fast

One of the things our kids look forward to every school year is collecting Box Tops. Our local schools are part of the Box Tops for education programs that help provide funding for programs, supplies, and field trips. The school will often send home a paper each month with a theme that the kids can paste their box tops on. Keeping track of the Box Tops before we get the paper can be a problem for us. We sometimes place them in a Ziploc bag, but unfortunately, that gets lost at times. Since we’ve already started putting aside Box Tops from products we use for their lunch, I knew I had to come up with a better solution. So ladies, and umm maybe gentlemen, I introduce to you our Box Tops mason jar!

4. Paw Painted Dog Treat Mason Jar

Paw Painted Dog Treat Mason Jar, a quick mason jar craft anyone can make and a pretty accent piece for a shelf or table

A fun dog treat jar I made for my sweet doggie Lucy… she’s a snugly little lover but a pain in my rear sometimes! This DIY labor of love was so easy, I spray painted with a coat of Rustoleum I had laying around the garage, then used my handy-dandy black oil paint pen from Sharpie, I love these pens, I wish I had every color! But, ya know this DIY gal has a budget…I just drew the paw prints. Regular Sharpie markers just don’t work as well over spray paint like these oil pens.

5. Mason Jar Nightlight

Mason Jar Nightlight, a pretty accent piece for a shelf or table and a fast project perfect for a rainy afternoon

My youngest daughter loves having a night light in her room and I’m constantly buying them from the Dollar Tree. This time I thought I would make some with some mason jars. I did one of the night lights blue for my room and a multi-colored one for my daughter’s room. I picked out some smaller mason jars I had on hand. But an old pickle jar, baby food jar, etc. would work great as well. I selected my Mod Podge of choice and some extra fine glitter. For this cool mason jar night light project, I just used Mod Podge, Sheer Aqua Mod Podge, Glitter, Mason Jar, Paint Brush, Battery Operated Tealight Candle. I created a gorgeous and simple DIY noghtlight

7. Glittering Gem Mason Jars

Glittering Gem Mason Jars, a fast project perfect for a rainy afternoon and a fun weekend craft with a jar and a few extras

I love DIY Mason Jar projects, they are so easy, cheap and fun. They have gotten through many a pinch when I needed a quick gift and this isn’t the first time I’ve covered a mason jar with gems and it won’t be the last. It’s such a simple but beautiful project and I’m constantly searching after the next adhesive to use to make it work out. Now the best I’ve used before this attempt was clear silicone caulk, It worked like a dream and the stones never went anywhere despite heat or cold BUT it has a totally different look and feel to it, especially in person.

9. DIY Pineapple Mason Jar Planter

The perfect gift for my daughter’s teacher popped into my mind as I was staring at the pineapples at Randall’s grocery store. I had this cute faux succulent pen that I always thought looked like a pineapple, so I realized that was my top. I painted my mason jar yellow and drew on the pineapple husk with my paint pen, filled it with some leftover Halloween candy I had lying around and I had the most beautiful gift that cost no money to put this together. I now get consulted by my daughter’s teachers on best DIY projects for the children’s craft hour.

10. DIY Mason Jar Fairy Lights

DIY Mason Jar Fairy Lights, an easy project ready in under an hour and a budget friendly way to repurpose an old jar

DIY mason jar fairy lights are surprisingly easy to make for the entertainment value they offer. Unlike many DIYs that have long lists of supplies you may or may not find readily available, this one just uses glow in the dark paint, glitter and pretty much any clean jar you can find. I do recommend you get a few different colors of glow in the dark paint to maximize the fairy cool factor, but any craft store and even Walmart will little jars or tubes of this type of paint. A fun and creative craft that can be enjoyed even if you do not do a “perfect” job painting it, this one is inexpensive enough that you can afford to throw it away or at least give it away when you get tired of it.

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
