But, if you’re someone who prefers the fillings of Philly cheesesteak more than the sandwich or the bread, then this recipe by TheCooknShare on YouTube is perfect for you. It’s still as hearty because of the pasta and just as yummy that you wouldn’t stop at just one serving.
Ingredients for Philly Cheesesteak Pasta:
- 1 pound of medium ground beef
- 10 button mushrooms, sliced
- 1 small bell pepper, julienned
- ½ small onion, chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 1 tsp of salt
- 2 tsp of ground black pepper
- 2 tsp of Italian seasoning
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 2 cups of beef broth
- 1½ cups of penne pasta
- 2 cups of shredded mozzarella
- ¼ cup of grated parmesan
- 2 tbsp of freshly chopped parsley, for garnish
How to Make Philly Cheesesteak Pasta:

Step 1
Place a pan on a stove over medium-high heat, then heat some oil, and cook the beef until nicely browned. Drain off any excess grease, then push the beef to one side of the pan, and add in the onion and garlic to the empty space.
Step 2
Saute them until fragrant, then add the mushrooms and bell peppers, and continue to saute until the mushrooms begin to cook and change color.
Step 3
Season them with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, then give them a good mix to combine, and pour in the heavy cream and beef broth.
Step 4
Bring them to a soft boil, then add the pasta, and stir them until evenly combined. Reduce the heat, then let it boil softly for about 10 to 12 minutes or until the pasta is cooked through.
Step 5
Add the mozzarella cheese and stir until incorporated, then mix in the parmesan cheese, and allow it to simmer for about 3 to 4 minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley, then serve, and enjoy!
