This Christmas tree-folded napkin is very quick and easy to piece together which makes it the perfect last-minute Christmas project, too. You don’t even have to be an expert seamstress to make this, just follow the steps and instructions in this video tutorial by Jordan Fabrics on YouTube.
Step 1
Gather your fabrics, then press them to remove any wrinkles, and cut them to size as instructed in the video. Get 2 black rectangles for the stem, then stack them with their right sides facing, and stitch the 2 short and 1 long sides. Trim the corners at an angle, then turn it right side out, and finger press.
Step 2
Topstitch close to the edge, then pin the open edge of the stem to the curved side of the circle making sure it’s 2 inches from the straight edge. Place the other half circle on top with their right sides facing, then pin them together, and stitch them all the way around with ¼ inch seam allowance backstitching at the start and finish, make sure to leave a 2-inch space open.
Step 3
Trim off the corners at an angle, then turn it right side out, and poke the corners nicely. Press it down, then tuck the edges, fold one side of the half circle, and iron it down. Topstitch all the way around and along the fold line, then press it down again, do a fan fold as demonstrated in the video, and make sure to press as you go.
