Easy Parker House Rolls Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1/2 cup and 1 tablespoon of milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon of instant yeast (1 3/4 teaspoon of active dry yeast)
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 egg

How to Make Parker House Rolls

Step 1:

In a bowl, add lukewarm milk, yeast, sugar, salt, and egg. Mix well. Next, add softened butter and flour. Combine everything together.

Step 2:

Transfer the dough to a clean work surface and knead until smooth and elastic. Keep it on the counter and cover it with a bowl. Let it sit for 30 minutes.

Step 3:

After 30 minutes, place it on a lightly floured work surface. Roll it with a rolling pin into a square shape (27x30x1 cm) that is 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Brush the top with softened or melted butter.

Step 4:

Divide the rectangle into 15 equal pieces.

Step 5:

Fold the dough onto itself, to 3/4 of the length. Place on a greased or lined baking tray with the smooth surface facing up. This will prevent the rolls from unfolding.

Step 8:

Serve and enjoy!
