Peeling a few cloves of garlic is so easy that you won’t even break a sweat, but working with tons of garlic is a different story. It can be challenging and frustrating. This can happen if you are planning to make a bunch of minced garlic for a certain recipe or simply want to jar them for easy use.

Fortunately, there are certain techniques that you can try to make things a lot easier and faster. You can find different hacks that you can test online and one of those is this trick by Camirra’s Kitchen on YouTube. This video tutorial will you show how to peel tons of garlic effortlessly at once using only a kitchen towel and a heavy bottle.
Step 1
Place the garlic bulbs in a clean kitchen towel, then wrap them, and smash them down with the bottom of a heavy bottle.
Step 2
Move and rub the garlic around, then lift the towel, and start picking the peeled garlic cloves out of the bunch discarding the skin.
Step 3
If you’re having a hard time separating the skin from garlic, transfer them to a bowl, then fill it with water, and skim the skins floating at the top.
Bonus: How to Store the Peeled Garlic
Transfer the peeled garlic cloves to a food processor, then process them in a mason jar. Add about ¾ teaspoon of salt to absorb the excess moisture, then pour in a generous amount of extra virgin olive oil or avocado oil, and make sure that it fills the bottom of the jar and the entire minced garlic is covered. Place the lid of the jar, then store it in your fridge, and use it in your recipes as needed.
