Make sure to include this stew recipe idea in your Halloween menu and you will have a party that everyone will remember. It’s very delicious and filled with lots of meat and veggies which I’m sure even kids and picky eaters will have a hard time saying no to. Learn how now by watching the video tutorial below.
Step 1
Place a large skillet on a stove over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and sausage, then break them apart and cook them until nice and brown, and remove all of the excess grease. Transfer the meat to the crockpot, then peel and slice the carrots, and cut them into pumpkin shapes.
Step 2
Add them to the crockpot, then add in the potatoes, celery, leeks, and garlic, and season them with Italian herb seasoning, salt, and pepper. Pour in the condensed French onion soup, condensed tomato soup, water, and beef broth, then cover the crockpot with the lid, and cook the stew on a high setting for about 4 hours or a low setting for about 8 hours.
Step 3
Once the cooking time is almost done, cut the mushrooms in half lengthwise, then use a straw to make 2 holes for the eyes, and cut two slits for the nose as shown in the video. Add the mushrooms to the crockpot, then let the stew finish cooking for the remaining 10 minutes, and ladle into serving bowls. Serve and enjoy!
