It is probably the easiest and best way to cook canned green beans. You’ll be surprised how good they will turn out. When I made this recipe at home, my family couldn’t believe it was just from a can. They said it tasted homemade. Serve it with soups, stir-fried dishes, pasta, or chicken breasts.
Here’s another recipe for you: Butter Lemon Garlic Chicken and Green Beans
In a non-stick pot, add 3 cans (14.5 oz each) of green beans including the liquid. Next, add 1/8 cup of cooking oil (extra virgin olive oil is preferred) and one tablespoon of granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
Place on your stove and cook on high heat. It doesn’t matter if you have an electric or gas stovetop. Bring it to a boil. If you are in a hurry, place a lid so it boils faster.
Once boiling, remove the lid so the juices evaporate. Cook them all the way down until you hear a sizzle.
After they are sizzling for 3 to 4 minutes, take a masher and mash some of it.
Cook until the bottom is completely dry. You will hear it popping and smell an aroma. The sugar and liquid will form a brown glaze. Make sure to run them around the edges to get the glaze off.
Serve and enjoy!
