What I also love about this dish is the fact that it’s very easy to prepare and budget-friendly, especially if you have leftovers. You can also improve and modify the ingredients to your heart’s content by adding more cheese or adjusting the seasoning to your preference. Watch the video tutorial below now to learn how.
Step 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add the gnocchi, and cook it for about 2 minutes or according to the package instructions. Drain off all the water and set it aside, then heat a skillet, and add some oil. Add the bacon to the hot oil, then cook it until nice and crispy, and then set it aside on a plate lined with a paper towel to drain off the excess oil.
Step 2
In the same skillet, add the ground beef, then break it apart, add the onion, bell pepper, and seasoned salt, and then give them a good mix to combine. Cook the beef until nice and brown, drain the excess grease, add the garlic, and mix them well.
Step 3
Now, add the gnocchi and carefully mix them, then add the bacon, reserve some for later, and add the diced tomatoes. Carefully mix everything, then add the ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, paprika, and black pepper, and then keep mixing until incorporated.
Step 4
Once the mixture is boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer, then let it keep cooking for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens, and then give them a quick mix before turning off the heat. Add the cheese on top, then cover it with the lid, and let the remaining heat melt the cheese on top. Garnish it with the reserved bacon and green onions, then serve, and enjoy!
