Drop biscuits are wonderfully simple and quick to make, requiring only a handful of ingredients and a few minutes of your time. Unlike traditional biscuits that need to be carefully shaped, drop biscuits get their name from the easy method of simply dropping spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet. This method not only saves time but also creates biscuits with a rustic, charming appearance and a light, fluffy interior.

Whether you’re spreading them with your favorite jam, drizzling them with honey, or serving them alongside a hearty stew, drop biscuits are incredibly versatile and always delicious. Watch the video below to learn how to make these wonderful biscuits.
Preheat your oven to 435 degrees F. Cut the cold butter into cubes, then pop them right back into the fridge. Next, add 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 1/2 tsp baking powder, and 1 tsp salt in a large mixing bowl. Whisk together to combine, then toss in the cubed butter. Work the butter into the flour with a pastry blender or your hands.
Next, add 3/4 cup whole milk and bring everything together (add more milk if needed until you don’t have a lot of loose flour hanging around). Now, grab a scoop and scoop up eight drop biscuits and arrange them in a parchment paper-lined baking tray. Once done, place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until the tops are nice and golden.
