Are you craving some chicken nuggets? Make some at home using only canned chicken with this recipe from Catherine’s Plates on YouTube! That’s right, you can actually make homemade chicken nuggets with canned chicken. You’ll only need five ingredients and you can season it however you like.

Drain the canned chicken very well using a fine mesh strainer, then take a fork and squish the chicken to get all the water out. Once done, place a bowl on top of the chicken to further squeeze out any excess liquid left, then let it sit for five minutes with the bowl on top of it. After this, add the chicken to the food processor and grind it until tiny pieces, then transfer to a large bowl. To that, add 1/4 cup bread crumbs, 1 large whisked egg, and 1 tsp Dijon mustard. Season with 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp ground black pepper, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp onion powder, and 1/4 tsp smoked paprika. Mix together until well combined.
Now, take a small cookie scoop, go into the mixture, and pull it along the edge of the mixing bowl. Place it in your hand, form a tight ball, and coat it with more bread crumbs. Repeat these steps until you finish the mixture. Once done, Heat a quarter inch of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then gently drop the nuggets. Flatten them slightly using a spatula, then cook them until they’re nice and golden brown on both sides. Place the cooked nuggets on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
