Out of all the different quilt projects that I’ve done, I can say that appliques are one of my favorites to make. What I love about them is that they are super easy and fun to make, and the possibilities of shapes that you can use are endless.

But, if you want to try something classic or traditional, then check out this stained glass rose applique by Man Sewing on YouTube! You will surely love how beautiful the final result looks and you might even want to make more of this.
Step 1
Download and print out the pattern, then cut the fabric pieces as instructed in the video tutorial, and fuse the fabrics for the applique to the template before cutting them out.
Step 2
Piece together the fabrics for the stained glass background, then place the applique pieces on top, and arrange them to form the shape of the rose.
Step 3
Peel off the backing paper on the applique pieces, then put them back into place, and press them down with an iron to fuse them to the background.
Step 4
Working carefully and precisely, attach the bias tape around the edges of the rose as well as the parts where the background fabrics are joined, and fuse them down using a clover mini iron cutting the excess as you go.
Step 5
Topstitch over the bias tape or the border, then make sure to backstitch at every start and finish, and finish your quilt however you want.
