The flavor of this pulled pork version is so good and is perfect for those who love Dr. Pepper, it’s so sweet and savory, and the meat is super tender! You can serve them on burger buns or over rice, or simply enjoy them as is. Learn how to make this now and give it a try today, I’m sure you’ll love it.
Step 1
Line a crockpot with aluminum foil or crockpot liner, then place the thinly sliced onion on the bottom of the crockpot in a single layer and place the pork on top. Pour the Dr. Pepper over the meat, then in a small mixing bowl, add the liquid smoke, honey, and minced garlic, and give them a good stir until well combined.
Step 2
Baste the meat by brushing the pork with the prepared sauce, then in another mixing bowl, stir together the brown sugar, onion powder, kosher salt, smoked paprika, black pepper, and cumin until uniform. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture all over the top of the pork, then cover the crockpot with the lid, and cook it on a high setting for about 4 hours or on a low setting for about 6 hours.
Step 3
Once done cooking, transfer the pork to a large baking dish, then shred the meat, and pour the BBQ sauce over the top. Give them a good toss until evenly coated, then serve on hamburger bund or deli rolls with some coleslaw, and enjoy!
