In a large bowl, add the 3.4 oz pudding dry mix, 1/2 cup of cold milk, and 3/4 cup of root beer. Beat together using an electric hand mixer for about 2 minutes until it has a pudding consistency.
Add half (4 oz) of the whipped topping or cool whip into the mixture and fold until well mixed.
Pour the pudding mixture into the pie crust evenly.
Add the remaining half (4 oz) of the whipped topping over the pudding mixture and spread evenly.
Cover the pie crust and place in the freezer. Let it freeze for at least 2 hours or until it’s set.
After 2 hours, remove it from the freezer and garnish with additional whipped topping and cherries on top. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
If you have leftovers, make sure to freeze them.
