Geese pattern is one of my favorite quilts; which is why I’m so obsessed with how this pattern came together. To start, cut three 6″ x 6″ squares of main fabric in different colors, then cut them diagonally. Next, cut six 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ squares of background fabric, then place one triangle on each square. Pin them in place, then sew the edges, leaving the center open. Once done, cut them diagonally and press open.

After pressing, arrange the pieces like in the image below. Once done, grab the last piece at the bottom, remove the sewn parts, then place the background fabric on top and the little triangle to the bottom. Then, cut the 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ square diagonally and place each triangle piece at the top, beside the background fabric you just laid. Now, pin three pieces each, sew them together (snip off the dog ears in the process), sew those units together to complete the block, then trim it.
