This quilt block idea by Carol Thelen on YouTube is perfect for quilters who are looking for a fun and challenging project to try. This block may look intimidating at first, especially if you’re a beginner, but as long as you follow the diagram and the step-by-step instructions, then you’ll surely finish this block easily. Try it out now and put your skills to the test!
Step 1
Cut the fabrics to size, then get the patch A squares, and place them in the outside corners and 1 white patch A square at the center. Place the patch B next to each side of the corner squares with their straight edges matching, then place the large pink and purple triangles in each center (the pink and purple triangles should form a rectangle), and fill in the spaces with the green and white triangles all the way around (the white and green fabric should form a rectangle as well).

Step 2
Make sure to always refer to the diagram so that you don’t get confused, then start stitching the half-square rectangles or the large pink and purple triangles first, and then sew the green and white triangles together. Next, sew the dark pink triangles on each side of the square, then sew them to the white and green triangles to complete the corner block unit. Now, sew the units together per row, then stitch the rows to each other, and make sure to press them open as you go.
