Step 1: Shorten or Tighten Any Loose or Sagging Springs

Start by looking at the bottom of the couch underneath. Next, remove the staples carefully, then the lining. Now, using a pair of vice-grip pliers, squeeze each separate part of the spring which will shorten it. This will reduce the sagging of the couch.

Step 2: Replace Old or Worn Out Foam

Once you have the staples removed, take off the fabric and replace the foam. After you replace the foam, put the fabric back and re-do the staples.

Step 3: Add More Supports to Reinforce Existing Supports

Get a piece of wood, cut it to size, then put it right along the spring, equally spaced, to provide some additional support underneath.
