Take the lighter fabric square and place it face down on your work surface. Draw a center line in both directions. Draw two diagonal lines from corner to corner.
Think about in quadrants. Draw a diagonal from point to point in each quadrant to make a diamond in the center.
Take your other square and place the light square on top, right sides together. Pin the fabrics together to avoid shifting when sewing.
If you’ve made half-square triangles with drawn lines before, you may be tempted to sew it in all directions. Take note that you will not be doing that with a 32-at-a-time method. Do not sew on the sides of the center lines, but sew on all the diagonals. Sew a quarter of an inch on all of the diagonals.
Remove your pins and cut on the center lines. Get one of the quadrants, and cut into the center in both directions. After that, cut directly on the diagonal lines. Repeat with the other quadrants.
Open each of the half-square triangles and press them flat. After that, trim each block.
