It’s super easy to make, and I bet you already have all the ingredients in your kitchen. I always make these tarts for my family, as we love snacking on these little circles of goodness. Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour

Filling:

  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • dash of salt
  • 2/3 cup finely chopped pecans, divided

Directions:

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and grease your muffin tin. Set it aside. Next, make the dough. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup softened butter, 3 0z softened cream cheese, and 1 cup of all-purpose flour. Mix well until you form a dough. After this, make the filling. In another bowl, combine 3/4 cup of brown sugar, one egg, 1 tbsp melted butter, 1 tsp of vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Mix well, then add 1/3 cup of chopped pecans and continue to mix until well combined.

Step 2

After this, add 1 tbsp of the dough to each muffin cup, then push it to the bottom as well as to the sides. Once done, put a bit of filling on each cup (don’t overfill them), then take the rest of the pecans and put them on each top. Place them in the preheated oven at 375 degrees F, and bake them for fifteen to twenty minutes. After baking, let them cool a bit for five minutes, then serve.
