Dinner is a time most of us always look forward to because there is nothing good food can’t solve, especially after a busy and tiring day. However, it is sometimes difficult to choose which dish to serve on the table, so if you ever find yourself in this situation, it may be best to opt for something simple, easy, and quick to prepare. Just like this tender and juicy roasted chicken by Simply Mamá Cooks on YouTube that even beginners can perfect on the first try!
Optional seasoning (you can also just use salt and pepper instead)
Step 1
First, make sure to clean the chicken well and thaw it for about 35 minutes on the counter if frozen, then pat it dry, and start rubbing it with oil until coated. Sprinkle some salt, garlic powder, onion powder, salt-free lemon pepper, and chicken seasoning, then rub the seasonings well to the chicken until evenly coated, and then repeat on the other side.

Step 2
Using cooking twine, tie the legs together as close as possible, then tuck the wings nicely to lock them in place as shown in the video, then transfer it to a cast-iron skillet pan or baking dish, and add more seasonings as desired to the areas that are untouched. Put it inside the preheated oven at 350°F and allow it to bake for about 15 to 17 minutes per pound or until the internal temperature has reached 165°F.
Bonus: Roasted Sweet Potatoes
Wash, clean, and dry the sweet potatoes, then score the skin or prick them all over with a fork, and rub them with cooking oil until covered. Season them with salt to taste, then put them in the preheated oven along with the chicken, and bake them for about 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the size of your potatoes. Once both chicken and potatoes are done baking, allow them to rest for about 25 minutes, then cut off the twine, and remove it. Cut the chicken, then serve it with the sweet potato on the side, and enjoy!
