Fill the spray bottle with water. Spray your couch until it’s a little bit moist. Make sure to include the arms and back.
Add baking soda to a bowl, and sprinkle it on your damped couch. This will help remove the odor whether dog, pet or smoke smells. Be sure to spread it everywhere.
Wear your gloves, then dampen your old rag a little bit. Rub your couch in circular motions. You want it to get down into the fabric. Give it a good rub to clean it and remove the smell. Let it sit for a minimum of 30 minutes. The longer you can let it sit, the better. Just like when you keep baking soda in your fridge all the time.
Vacuum your couch until the baking soda is removed. If you went really heavy on the baking soda, take your wet washcloth and rub it to get any excess that your vacuum didn’t pick up.
Transfer the rubbing alcohol to a spray bottle. Spray it on your couch to disinfect it. If you are worried about your fabric, test out a small area on the back of your couch. Have a fan on while spraying to make the drying process quick.
Give your couch a nice spray of air freshener.
