Ingredients:

  • 210 ml warm milk
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp white sugar
  • 2 cups of bread flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp softened unsalted butter
  • shredded cheese or jam (for the filling)

Directions:

Step 1

Add 210 ml of warm milk to a bowl followed by 1 tsp active dry yeast, and 2 tbsp white sugar. Mix it well and let it sit for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, add 2 cups of bread flour and 1/2 tsp salt. Mix it until a dough forms. When the dough forms, add 2 tbsp softened unsalted butter, then knead it until the surface is smooth. Cover it and let it rise for one and a half hours. After this, punch the dough to remove air bubbles and transfer it to a floured surface. Shape the dough into a round shape and divide it into 12 equal pieces, then shape each dough into balls. After shaping the dough pieces, cover them and let them rest for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, get a piece, flour it, then roll it out. Add some shredded cheese to one edge of the dough, wrap it, then cut the remaining dough on top into 6. After this, roll the dough up and join the two ends, pinching them together so they’ll lock.

Step 2

Place it in a non-stick muffin pan. Repeat this step to the rest of the dough pieces. You can also add jam as the filling instead of shredded cheese. Cover the muffin pan for 45 minutes to let the dough rise. After this, brush some egg wash or milk over the top of each bun. Place it in the oven at 350 degrees F and bake them for 15 to 20 minutes. After baking, place it on a rack to let them cool, then serve.
