Do you have some old towels that you no longer use? Repurpose them by transforming them into bath rugs with this tutorial from Estadistica Datos del Mundo on Youtube. It’s perfect for your bathroom or the kitchen, where it can get slippery at times! You can also gift this to friends or family! Learn the step-by-step process by watching the video tutorial below.
Cut the towel to 70 x 46 cm. Next, cut another towel to 70 46 cm. Now, get your cotton fabric and cut 2 strips lengthwise +2 cm more and another 2 strips to the width +2 cm more. Join the long strip with the short strip, right sides facing each other, then pin to secure. Sew the short side with a 1 cm seam. Now, lay down the other strip by joining the long strip with the short strip and the short strip with the long strip. Pin to secure, then sew both ends with a 1 cm seam. After this, measure down the middle at the seam then mark it. (See the picture below for the exact location of the marks.) Sew along these marked lines. Repeat this on four other sides, then connect them by sewing. Trim the edges, leaving a 0.5 cm. Fold on 1 side all around then press it.

Next, join the two towel pieces you cut earlier. Sew along the four sides with a 1 cm seam. Measure 4.5 x 4.5 cm in four corners. Get the cotton fabric you connected earlier and join the seams with the marks on the corners. (Right side down.) Pin to secure them in place with a 3 cm seam. Now, stitch on the cotton fabric with a 1.5 cm seam. After sewing, flip the cotton fabric, wrapping the edges of the towel. Sew the other side of the border now with a 0.5 cm seam. Finish the bath mat by ironing it.
