Have you ever wanted to own a small pot of cactus but don’t how to properly care for it? Then why don’t try making an artificial version made of pipe cleaners? It’s equally adorable, looks quite realistic, is super easy to make, and inexpensive! Learn how to make it from scratch through this simple step-by-step tutorial by Craft Be 9 on YouTube.
Step 1
Grab 2 pieces of pipe cleaners, then curve one end of both pipe cleaners, and use it to link them together, pinch and twist them at the bottom to secure the link. Fold one end toward the center where they were joined, then fold the other end toward the center as well making sure that it loops over the first loop. Make sure it’s lopped as evenly as possible. Press it lightly using a small flat iron, then set it aside. Repeat the process and make 4 more pieces. Connect 2 pieces together on their sides using hot glue, then attach the other two in between them on each side, trim the top a little bit to make it pointy.

Step 2
Grab another piece of pipe cleaner and make a loop about 4 times, pinch and twist at the bottom to secure. Loop the excess tail over, then insert the tail at the bottom of the loop and pinch. Curve the bottom and form the cactus arm, cut off the excess tail, then repeat the process one more time. Attach the arms on each side of the cactus at opposite heights, then make a few more pieces with different heights and sizes. Wrap a pipe cleaner around 1 finger about 6 times or until you reached the end of the pipe cleaner. Twist both ends around the roll, then wrap another piece of pipe cleaner around the roll tightly to create a small crown for the cactus, and attach it at the top of the cactus. Assemble them in a pot, secure them using hot glue, then fill the spaces and gaps around them with pebbles.
