As a fan of swiss rolls, I’ve seen a lot of recipes and tutorials before, but never have I seen a swiss roll look this perfect! Upon seeing this tutorial I immediately went to the nearest grocery store to buy some ingredients I’d use. After trying to recreate the recipe, trust me when I say that I fell in love and I know from then on, that this will now become my favorite recipe. It’s fluffy, tasty, and melts in your mouth. Perfect pair for hot beverages and perfect to share with friends and family. If you’re waiting for a sign to bake your first cake, this is it! Thanks to Cooking See on YouTube for this easy-to-follow tutorial.
Step 1
Break 5 eggs and separate the whites from the yolk, break the yolk before adding sugar, mix until light and foamy. Once the volume has increased and texture has a ribboning effect, you can set it aside and proceed to make the meringue. Beat the egg white then gradually add 1/4 cup of sugar divided into three parts, mix until stiff peak. Pour the egg yolk mixture onto the meringue then gently fold. Sift cake flour and baking powder onto the batter and mix until well-combined.

Step 2
Combine the milk and vegetable oil in a bowl, then add some cake batter, mix it well before pouring it onto the remaining cake batter. Once it was well-combined, pour it onto a baking tray greased and lined with parchment paper, then spread it evenly. Tap it on the countertop to rid of the air bubbles. Bake it in a preheated 170°C oven for about 30 minutes. Remove the parchment paper and flip, then cut the edges. Make a slanted cut on one side, then make three 3mm dep cut on the other side of the cake. Spread jam or honey onto the cake then start rolling it, seal the parchment paper covering the cake and refrigerate for about an hour, unwrap the roll, cut, and serve.
