I always wanted to renovate our house and make it modern, but I’m afraid to break the bank. So I’m searching for ways to modernize our home at a reasonable price. While browsing Youtube the other day, I found this helpful video from DIY Creators. It was a list of some things I could do to make our home feel modern in an expensive way. Who would have thought that simply ripping out an outdated baseboard could breathe new life into an old room? Watch the video below to learn the following.
#1 Declutter
Start where you have the most stuff, like your garage, and from there, try to remove unnecessary things. With this, you’ll be able to minimize stuff you don’t actually use that just contribute to the clutter.
#2 Painting
One of the best ways to breathe new life into a space is a fresh coat of paint. If you have a small room, a coat of white or light-colored paint will do the trick to make it look bigger. Also, patch your wall before painting it.
#3 Floors
Addressing your floor is another way to update your space. You can change your old carpet to a new one or tear down your floors completely and install laminated wood for a change.
#4 Baseboards
To make your room feel like it’s not done on a budget, remove the outdated baseboards and change them to flat boards to make your room look modern.

#5 Security
Modernizing your home doesn’t mean the visual aspects only; you should also upgrade by installing security throughout your entire home.
#6 Hardware
The next thing to upgrade is your fixtures and hardware. Even if they still work doesn’t mean you shouldn’t change them. Swap them out for something more appealing without breaking the bank.
#7 LED Strips
Now, be creative by incorporating LED strips into your furniture or case.
#8 Smart Home
As technology grows more advanced each day, you should also consider adding smart devices into your home. This will not only modernize your home but also, make life easier.
