Vinegar is one of the most useful items you can buy at the grocery store. When I found this helpful video by Earth Monkey on YouTube, I was amazed at how many things you could use vinegar for in the garden. You can kill weeds with vinegar and vinegar will also deter pests such as rodents, skunks, deer, racoons, and rabbits. You can also use vinegar to remove rust from old garden tools by covering the rusty metal with vinegar-soaked paper towels and covering in plastic for a day. The next day after the vinegar soak, you just scrub them with a sponge and some baking soda and the rusty tools will be rust free and clean. It is really that easy, vinegar is a gardener’s best friend for so many reasons.

You just put the vinegar in a spray bottle with 2 teaspoons of dish soap to make the vinegar stick to the leaves. Try to spray the weeds on a sunny day because the heat will help the vinegar’s drawing power on the roots and the leaves of the weeds.

You can also use vinegar to kill mold and mildew. Just put a bit of vinegar on a sponge and wipe it all away.
