Is it too cold outside? Just throw on a scarf, and you are good to go. A scarf is more than just an accessory; it provides warmth, protects you against the cold air, and adds character to your outfit. Scarves come in different colors, patterns, lengths, and materials. During winter, it’s best to use woolen or cashmere scarves to keep your face, neck, and body warm.

A scarf can elevate a simple look if you know how to style it properly. For example, if you are wearing a plain black top and bottoms, a scarf can easily add color, texture, and pattern to your outfit. Many people I know just drape them around their necks, but you’re not getting the most out of this accessory if you wear it that way. Noah Altink on YouTube shows three ways to tie your scarf perfectly.  The video tutorial below shows you how to do the reverse, easy knot, and long scarf techniques. If you want to elevate your plain outfits, invest in good-quality scarves. Trust me, they will be worth it.

How to Tie a Scarf

Reverse method

Drape your scarf around your neck so that the ends fall on your back. Crisscross then place the ends on your front. Pull the loop down a little bit, then insert the ends of your scarf and pull.

    Easy knot method

Fold your scarf in half, then drape it around your neck. Take the ends of the scarf and insert through the loop on the folded end. Tighten the scarf.

    Long scarf

Start by draping your scarf around your neck. Crisscross the ends, then take one end, and bring it under and through the loop. Pull on both ends to fix it.
