Love eating chocolates? You’re in for a treat with this no-bake chocolate cake! Yes, this recipe by 쿠킹하루 Cooking Haru 🙂 only requires 3 ingredients and doesn’t need flour. It’s a heavenly dessert that you should definitely try.

Ingredients:

  • 6.35 oz of semi-dark chocolate cake
  • 3 to 4 eggs
  • butter
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar (optional)
  • powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions:

Step 1:

Cut the chocolate into small pieces then place in a microwave-safe bowl. Put it in the microwave for 1 minute, then mix with a spatula until fully melted.

Step 2:

Separate the yolk and the white of one egg. Add the yolk to the melted chocolate and mix well. It will become very firm.

Step 3:

Add the other 2 yolks, one at a time, mixing after every addition. The mixture will become much softer.

Step 4:

Beat the egg whites with a hand mixer until fluffy. If you are going to add sugar, now is the perfect time to add it to the mixture. Sugar adds sweetness and helps the meringue to stabilize.

Step 5:

Stir the chocolate and the egg whites separately.  Add the egg whites to the chocolate mixture in batches, mixing with a silicone spatula after every addition. Mix until smooth.

Step 6:

Grease your cake mold on all sides with butter and add parchment paper on the bottom.

Step 7:

Stir the mixture, then pour it into the cake mold. Stir it with a chopstick and tap it to the bottom to remove air bubbles. Cover it with a plate or lid.

Step 8:

Cook it in a double boiler. You can place a heat-proof bowl upside down on a large pot and pour water below the cake. Place the mold with the lid on top of the bowl and cover it. Cook it over medium-low heat until it starts to boil. When it starts boiling, let it boil for 30 minutes over low heat.

 

If you have an oven, you can also bake it. Just place the cake mold on a baking sheet with a little bit of water. Bake it for 25 minutes in a preheated oven at 356F without the lid. Once done, let it cool for about 10 minutes inside the oven. Let it completely cool on a plate.

Step 9:

Stick a toothpick to the cake, if it comes out clean, you’re cake is done. Turn off the heat and leave it as is for 10 minutes.

Step 10:

Take it out after 10 minutes. Cover it with a plate and turn it over to remove the cake and let it cool completely.

Step 11:

Garnish with powdered sugar or sprinkles if preferred. Enjoy!
