Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of self-rising flour
  • 5 oz of any plain yogurt

For the glaze (optional):

  • 2 cups of powdered sugar
  • 2/3 stick of butter
  • 3-5 tbsp of milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • a pinch of salt

Directions:

Step 1

In a bowl, combine 1 cup of self-rising flour and 5 oz plain yogurt. Mix well to combine, then transfer the dough to your work surface and knead it for a couple of minutes. Next, grease a plastic wrap and wrap this to your dough and leave it to rest for about half an hour. After an hour, flour your work surface and roll out the dough to about 1/4″ thickness. Grab your donut cutter or a cookie cutter and cut mini-sized donuts.

Step 2

Place the donuts in a spatula or slotted spoon and place that in the hot oil, hold it there, and within seconds, the donuts will begin to bubble and float to the top. (Do not drop the donuts in the hot oil.) Cook the donuts until golden. Now, if you want to add a glaze, in a bowl, combine 2 cups of powdered sugar, 2/3 stick of butter, 3-5 tbsp milk, 1 tsp vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Whisk together well and coat the donuts entirely with this.
