Ingredients:

  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1/4 cup + 1/2 tbsp milk
  • 3 tbsp softened butter

For the filling:

  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
  • pinch of salt

Directions:

Step 1

In a bowl, combine 1 cup of self-rising flour, 1/4 cup + 1/2 tbsp milk, and 3 tbsp softened butter. Mix well until it forms a dough, then knead it on a surface. Next, in another bowl, combine 2 tbsp melted butter, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 tbsp cinnamon, 1/2 tbsp cornstarch, and a pinch of salt. This will be the filling of the cinnamon. Set it aside. Back to the dough, roll it with a rolling pin thinly (about 1/4″ thickness). After this, spread the filling all over the flattened dough. Next, roll the dough tightly and pinch it to close, then divide it into pieces.

Step 2

(Just an important note, these rolls are meant to be eaten right away. Once they’ve cool down, they will lose their fluffiness.) Slightly press down the cinnamon and brush them lightly with some brown sugar and milk. (Optional.) Place the cinnamon rolls on parchment paper and place them away from the center of the microwave. Set the microwave for 45 to 50 seconds.
