I have a jean jacket that I made fabric flowers and embroidered around. I thought they looked fabulous until I saw what this lady does in her tutorial! My next project will definitely include these poppies on a pair of jeans. Poppies are my favorite flower, so I’ve gotta do these awesome flowers on an article of clothing!

Whether you are a skilled seamstress or just learning how to thread a bobbin, you can find great sewing projects that will allow you to release your creative spirit. While you once were restricted to local venues to find projects, today the web provides unlimited access to all kinds of fun ideas.

You can create gifts for others. While clothing might be the first thing that pops into your mind when you think about sewing, you don’t have to stop there! Embroidered items can surely brighten someone’s day. I absolutely love embroidered clothing, purses and other things.

Hand embroidery does not have to be complicated in order to be effective. Take, for example, the under-rated, under-estimated, and under-valued, plain old every day straight stitch. The straight stitch is exactly what it sounds like: a straight stitch. It is the most basic stitch. You bring your needle up in the fabric at some point, and you take it down at another point, pull your thread through, and voila! You have a straight stitch.

Watch how Leisha embroiders these beautiful flowers in her step by step tutorial so you can give these a try!

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
