I just love DIY projects where you can repurpose something you’ve enjoyed wearing and, when it doesn’t work for you any more, you can transform it into something that can be useful once again. Then you have the opportunity to add many more miles to this fabulous new item!
Spring cleaning (in October) is a great excuse to dig through your old clothes. Just because it’s worn, torn, or no longer fashionable, it doesn’t mean you need to throw it out.
I’m sure I’m not the only person with a pile of old jeans that no longer are part of our closet rotation. A couple of weeks ago I decided it was time to come up with a new project for a pair of them…and with bucket bags being the “in” thing right now I figured it would be the perfect item to make.
I also took this project a step further and made my bag reversible, like the lady in this tutorial does. It seems silly to line something with pretty fabric to never have the fabric be seen! I even took the reversible fabric a step further and hand painted it myself. I’m thinking about making another one of these and embroidering on the denim so I can give it as a gift to my Mother for Christmas this year. She’ll love it!
