After feeling a bit uninspired with my home decor, I’ve been really wanting to take on D.I.Y projects. Home decor items can be expensive so I found this stool for $9.99 while thrifting and of course, I had to give it a new plant to sit on. I’ve always wanted to grow my skills with powers tools and DIY projects, so I hope to continue to share what I learn along the way…. Because anything can be created for a new space for more plants anyway. #plantstandmakeover #plantdiys #plantdecorations

Tiktoker @plantswithkrystal shared a video last Wednesday, August 30, with a caption saying she was uninspired with her home decor. “Home decor can be expensive,” Krystal wrote. That’s when she decided to transform a $9.99 stool she thrifted. This was her way to enhance her skills with power tools and DIY projects.

She showed a yellow stool from the store and started the makeover by sanding everything. It may look boring at first, but wait until you see the finished product. Next, she added wood fillers to the gaps and sanded them to make the surface smooth again. After that, she removed all the dust and added a layer of pre-stain conditioner and full-on stain later on. The last thing she did was wait for it to dry, and it was time for styling. The stool looked expensive and gorgeous. She then positioned it beside her fireplace and placed her indoor plant on top.

The project was definitely a success! She did a great job choosing the right stain color, as it perfectly fits her space. The dark brown color added contrast to her neutral-colored walls, carpet, and tiles. This shows that you only need a bit of creativity and basic skills to bring new life to your old furniture pieces.
