The prep of this vintage pie only takes about 10 minutes because there are only 6 ingredients needed to make this pie. I love how this is a simple pie recipe to make because it saves so much time during the holidays. I’m ready to make this vintage buttermilk pie because I love chess pie, and I would try to make this into a chocolate buttermilk pie too. Also, I love how this is a classic recipe that doesn’t have complicated steps or ingredients.

Overall, I never made my own buttermilk pie and didn’t realize how simple it is to make it. I think this might be a new staple of pie to make during the holidays for me because it looks so moist and buttery. Also, I think it’s funny how she calls it a “Hillbilly Creme Brulee” because it’s such a southern pie to make. This pie is not only made during the holidays but if you’re having a southern meal I think it would be a great dessert to serve.
