How to Get Crystal Clear Pool Water

Step 1:

When you are having water issues, you have to start with the alkalinity. The easiest way to do it is by using test strips. Keep in mind that these test strips can expire. The proper way to balance your water is to always start by fixing your alkalinity, then your pH will be easy to fix if needed.  The same goes for chlorine and shock.

You need to raise your alkalinity if the reading is low or not showing up. It is between 80 to 120 PPM.

Step 2:

Add 1/3 of a bag of baking soda at a time slowly around the edge as if you are adding granular shock. Give it for about an hour keeping your jets running and test before adding more.
