There are tons of hacks online that show you how to make the back of your pans look good as new, but which one actually works? Cooking with Lynja tried three methods to find the best pan cleaning hack ever, so you don’t have to waste your time with the others that don’t actually work.
She started by putting tape on the middle of the back of the pan in both directions, then proceeded with the methods. By doing this, you can clearly see the results and compare each of the techniques. If you are planning to try these at home, make sure you wear gloves to protect your skin from the chemicals.
She added baking soda and vinegar to the back of the pan and spread it around. She let it sit for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, she rubbed it with steel wool and rinse it off.

She mixed baking soda and vinegar in a bowl and mixed until it becomes a paste. Then she applied it to the back of the pan and squeezed the lemon juice directly on top. After that, she scrubbed it with a sponge and rinsed it off.
Mix the bar keepers friend and water in a bowl. Apply it to the back of the pan and spread it out. Next, use steel wool to scrub it, then rinse it with water.
If we are going to look at the results in the photo below, the second method was ineffective and didn’t remove much of the grime. The first method, on the other hand, showed good results. But the most effective is definitely method three. The result was very impressive – it does look good as new.
