Instructions
Step 1:
Preheat the oven to 350F and grease 2 donut pans (6-well) with butter or spray with baking spray and flour.
Step 2:
Make the pumpkin donuts. Sift together flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
Step 3:
In a different large bowl, add the pumpkin puree, sugars, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Whisk until well combined.
Step 4:
Add the wet mixture to the flour mixture, and fold until fully combined. Transfer it to a piping bag or zip-lock bag with one corner snipped. Pipe the dough into the wells of the pan about 1/2 to 1/3 full.
Step 5:
Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 12 minutes. To check if it’s clean, insert a toothpick in the center. If it comes out clean, your donut is ready. Let them cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before adding glaze or cinnamon sugar.
Step 6:
Make the maple glaze. Sift powdered sugar in a medium bowl, then whisk in maple syrup, followed by water or milk (add more if needed). Dip the donuts in glaze while still warm then cool on a wire rack.
Step 7:
Combine sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Add warm donut to the mixture and toss to coat. If the mixture is not sticking to the donuts, lightly brush them with melted butter first.
