The best part about the holiday season, specifically Christmas is the joy of giving and caring, and you can find those in the form of sugar cookies. every year, I make sure to give away some token of gratitude or love in the form of sweets, and the best recipe I can think of is this tutorial made by Haniela’s on YouTube. What I love about this is its uncomplicated and easy step, that you can follow hassle-free. You can also decorate it in any style you want depending on the holiday or theme. Give it as a gift or serve it at the dinner table this Christmas and impress your guests!
Step 1:
Whisk the egg and vanilla together in a small cup, set aside. Prepare the cookie dough by sifting flour with baking powder in a large bowl, then add salt. In a mixer, put the room temperature butter together with the sugar, then mix for at least 5 minutes. Add the egg vanilla mixture and beat for at least 1 minute before adding the all-purpose flour, add 1 cup gradually and decrease the speed of the mixer to low.
Step 2:
Transfer the dough to a bowl or flat surface with parchment paper and knead for 30 seconds to 1 minute until the dough comes together. Put it in a plastic wrap or zip-lock bag then chill overnight or at least 4 hours. Get a baking sheet and put parchment paper on top, put the dough in between the parchment paper before rolling.
