Ingredients:

  • thick slices of brioche, challah, or french bread
  • 8 oz of cream cheese (1 package, softened)
  • 1/4 cup of sour cream
  • 3/4 cup of powdered sugar (more for topping)
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract (divided)
  • 1 cup of strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • butter
  • maple syrup for topping (optional)

Instructions:

Step 1:

Thoroughly wash the strawberries and cut them into thin slices. Place in a bowl. Sprinkle the white sugar and mix them to coat. Set aside for 10 minutes.

Step 2:

Get a big bowl and add cream cheese, vanilla extract, sour cream, and powdered sugar. Mix all ingredients using a hand mixer until peaks. Do not overmix it.

Step 3:

In a different bowl, add the milk, 3 large eggs, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Mix well using a whisk.

Step 4:

In a flat bowl, pour the milk mixture. Using a spatula or spoon, spread the cream cheese mixture onto one slice of bread then add the strawberries. Get another slice of bread and spread some cream cheese then place on top of the slice with strawberries. Set aside. Continue with your remaining slices.

Step 5:

In a pan, add butter and let it melt over medium heat. Dip the sandwich in your egg wash on both sides and put it into your pan. Cook both sides for 4 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 6:

Cut the sandwich diagonally and place it on a plate. Add some more strawberries on top and drizzle some maple syrup on top. Add a spoon of the cream cheese mixture and sift some powdered sugar on top. Enjoy!
