Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups of pretzels, coarsely crushed
  • 1 cup of sugar + 3 tbsp more
  • 1/3 cup butter (or margarine), melted
  • 1 large container of cool whip
  • 2 pkg. (3 oz) of strawberry jello
  • 8 oz of cream cheese
  • 2 pkg. (10 oz) of frozen strawberries
  • 2 cups of boiling water

Directions:

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Next, in a large bowl, add 2 1/2 cups of coarsely crushed pretzels, 1/3 cup of melted butter, and 3 tbsp of sugar. Mix well together, then put them in a 9 x 13 casserole dish. Spread them out and press tightly into the bottom to form a nice crust. Put it in the oven and bake for ten minutes. While waiting, make the cream cheese mixture. Add 8 oz of cream cheese and 1 cup of sugar in a large mixing bowl and blend them using a handheld mixer. Once combined, start adding the cool whip a little bit at a time, while continuously mixing.

Step 2

Now, take the cooled pretzel crust and add the cream cheese mixture over the top, spreading it evenly. Set it aside. Next, make the jello. In a pot of boiling water, add two pkg of strawberry jello and stir until completely dissolves, then combine it with the frozen strawberries. Let the strawberry jello chill for a few minutes in the fridge. After this, pour it over the cool whip, spreading the strawberries across the top. Put it in the fridge and let it chill until the jello finishes setting up.
