Ingredients:

  • 12 – 13 small TJ’s Honeycrisp or granny smith apples (peeled, cored, sliced)
  • 3/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 1/2 cups  organic brown sugar, divided
  • 1 1/2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1/4 tsp + a pinch of sea salt
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp spiced chai black tea concentrate
  • 1 tsp  organic pure bourbon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups gluten-free rolled oats
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • a pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup organic virgin coconut oil (room temp)
  • whipped cream and caramel sauce, for serving

Directions:

Step 1

To start, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Next, in a large bowl, add the sliced granny smith apples, then add 3/4 cup dried cranberries, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup gluten-free flour, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp spiced chai black tea concentrate. Mix well and set aside. In another bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups gluten-free rolled oats, 1 cup gluten-free flour, 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice, a pinch of ground black pepper, a pinch of salt, 3/4 cup brown sugar, and 1/2 cup coconut oil. Mix well.

Step 2

Now, transfer the apple mixture into a 2-quart baking dish, then cover it with the crisp mixture. Place the baking dish in a baking tray and put it in the preheated oven for 1 1/2 hours or until the apples are tender. Serve and enjoy!
