Ingredients:
- 1 lb of ground chuck
- 8 oz of hot Italian pork sausage
- 1 medium or large onion (diced)
- 4 cloves of garlic (minced or pressed)
- coarse salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon of red chili flakes
- 1/3 cup of tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon of beef better than bouillon
- 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes
- 28 oz of water (enough to fill the can)
- 2 teaspoons of granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons of fresh basil (chopped)
- 12 oz of dried spaghetti
- 1/2 cup of grated parmesan

Instructions:
Step 1:
Place a dutch oven or heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat. Add oil, ground beef, and sausage. Break the meat into small pieces as it cooks.
Step 2:
Once the meat begins to brown and is well broken down, add the onion, garlic, and a pinch of salt. Make sure to scrape the bottom of the pot. Cover with the lid and cook for about 5 minutes.
Step 3:
Preheat your oven to 425F.
Step 4:
After 5 minutes, add the oregano, chili flakes, and tomato paste and cook for a minute or until the tomato paste is well incorporated.
Step 5:
Add the bouillon, crushed tomatoes, water, 1.5 teaspoon of salt, and 2 teaspoons of sugar to the beef. Mix and bring it to a simmer.
Step 6:
Add the basil and spaghetti. Gently stir and press down to submerge the noodles in the sauce. Let it simmer for about 60 seconds.
Step 7:
Carefully submerge the noodles again. Put the pot in the oven, and cook for about 16 to 18 minutes uncovered, gently stirring and submerging at 5 to 10 minutes into cooking.
Step 8:
Make a taste test. Adjust seasoning if necessary. Add the grated parmesan and stir well.
Step 9:
Serve on a plate and garnish with more parmesan on top.
