This southern-style pinto beans with turkey wings by Smokin’ & Grillin’ wit AB on YouTube is a must-try recipe if you want a country dish. This dish looks well seasoned, and I want to try it out for myself. I love how this is slow-cooked for a couple of hours to infuse all of the flavors together. The pinto beans with turkey meat are served with a bowl of rice. The broth soaks up the rice, and it reminds me of a super southern version of chili.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. Dried Pinto Beans, rinsed and sorted
  • 6 cups Chicken Stock (I used chicken broth)
  • 1 – 2 Smoked Turkey Wings
  • 1 Jalapeno, diced thin
  • 1 1/2 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 Yellow Onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder

Directions:

First, start off by boiling water in a pot and remove it from the heat. Add the beans into the pot and let it soak for about an hour. Then, drain the beans and add them back into the pot with the chicken stock. Add the chopped onions, jalapeños, and season with salt and pepper. Let the broth simmer.

Overall, this pinto beans with turkey is a process of cooking so everything can become tender and soft. This is a true southern style recipe to make. I’m not a big beans fan, but I love turkey. The meat falls off the bone, and I think the turkey would add a lot of flavor to the broth and mixture of beans. Everything about this recipe makes my mouth water and is a filling meal.
