Pecan pie is a southern classic sweet dessert, and it’s a simple pie that’s made for the holidays. Crouton Crackerjacks recipe on YouTube shows how to make a southern pecan pie with only 7 ingredients. There’s something specifically about pecan pie that I love and it is the roasted pecans on top that serve with the sweet consistency. I think the textures balance out well, and it’s super easy to make in one bowl. I love pie recipes that combine all of the ingredients in one bowl because it saves time and dishes. Normally, I do not like pecans, but this is one of my favorite holiday desserts. Also, I love having pecan pie randomly even when it’s not the holidays. Also, this recipe is short, sweet, and to the point. The placement of pecans on top is so neat and satisfying.

Note: make sure to monitor the pecan pie at 10 minutes before finished. You don’t want the pecans to brown too much and burn. If it gets too dark, cover with an aluminum foil and continue to bake until the middle is set. Let the pie set before serving a slice. I love adding whipped cream on top. I think it’s interesting that this recipe uses pancake syrup because I usually have that readily available.
