  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Directions:

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, add 1 cup butter flavored vegetable shortening, 1 cup powdered sugar, and 2 tsp vanilla extract. Mix using an electric mixer until smooth. Set aside. Next, in another bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1/8 tsp salt, mix well, then combine it gradually with the butter mixture while whisking. Once done, fold in 1 1/2 cups of chopped pecans.

Step 2

Now, scoop a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a ball. Place this in a parchment paper-lined baking tray. Repeat these steps until you finish up the mixture. After this, bake them in the center oven rack for 15 minutes or until the edges just begin to brown. After baking, get a bowl of powdered sugar and coat each pecan butterball. Let them cool completely, then coat them with powdered sugar for the second time. Serve and enjoy!
