Hamburger steaks and brown mushroom gravy are matches that no other can easily beat. This mouth-watering recipe was shared with us by the Cooking With Jack Show on YouTube. An easy recipe to follow and a dish bursting with flavorful ingredients.
Ingredients:
Directions:
Prepare all the ingredients as stated above.
When you put all the hamburger patty ingredients together in a big bowl, except for the flour and olive oil, mix them together. Mix all the ingredients together until evenly incorporated. Once mixed, shape the mixture into 4-6 hamburger patties, all the same size. Pour the flour you set aside in a shallow bowl and dip each patty on both sides until they are well coated.
Heat olive oil in a large semi-deep skillet on medium heat and place each of the patties in the pan. Let the patties cook until browned on both sides. Once cooked, remove it from the pan and set it aside. Reserve the pan drippings for the gravy.
In the pan with the drippers, sauté the onions and add a tablespoon of water. Cook, stirring frequently, over medium heat until lightly caramelized.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the beef broth, water, ¼ cup flour, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and gravy master. Mix all the ingredients until well combined. Pour the prepared mixture into the skillet with the onions and stir constantly. Stir until the mixture begins to thicken.
Place the hamburger patties in the skillet and flip a few times to coat each side with gravy. Make sure that the patties absorb the gravy on each side. Add the sliced mushrooms and then reduce the heat to a low simmer.
Cover the pan and let the dish cook for about 20 minutes longer. Make sure to flip them every 5 minutes to keep them well coated.
Serve it over buttered mashed potatoes, and enjoy!
