Ingredients:

  • 1 whole cabbage
  • 5 strips of bacon
  • sausage
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 shallot, diced
  • 1/2 green bell pepper
  • 1/2 red bell pepper
  • salt (if needed)
  • black pepper
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp cajun seasoning
  • chicken bouillon powder
  • red crushed chili flakes
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp distilled vinegar

Directions:

Step 1

Cut the cabbage, remove the core, then thickly slice it. Next, roughly diced your bell peppers, slice the onion, dice the shallot, cut the sausage sideways, and cut the bacon into bite-size pieces. ear the bacon in the heated cast iron skillet. Once the bacon starts to break and rendered oil, bring them to one side and cook the sausage on the other side of the pan. Once they’re cooked, remove them from the pan. Next, in the same pan, add the onions and cook them until soft, then add the shallots and mix.

Step 2

After this, add the bell peppers, then season with salt. Cook for a few minutes until the bell peppers break down, then add the cabbage. Cover the pan with a lid to allow the cabbage to soften up. After the cabbage breaks down, add 1 tbsp distilled vinegar, some crushed chili flakes, 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, some salt, 1/2 tsp cajun seasoning, a bit of chicken bouillon powder, some onion and garlic powder, and black pepper. Give everything a quick mix, then add the sausages and bacon. Mix to combine all ingredients.
