This recipe only requires 6 ingredients. You only need granny smith apples, butter, lemon juice, brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. It’s easy to prepare and comes together in just a few minutes. You can serve this apple dessert with a breakfast casserole, french toast, pancakes, potatoes, ham, mac and cheese, or pulled pork.

Star by peeling the apples and removing the core. Cut into even slices.
Place a skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Once the butter is melted, add the apple slices and spread them in a single layer. Let the apples cook until the butter bubbles up.
Once it’s bubbling, drizzle fresh lemon juice over the apples. Cook them on medium heat until the apples are fork-tender and soft.
Add brown sugar and white sugar for some sweetness. Adjust the amount based on your preference. Mix well and cook until the sugar has melted and the sauce thickens.
Turn off the heat and sprinkle some cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix until well combined.
Serve the fried apples while warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream topping. Enjoy!
