Though they are pretty easy to make by only combining a bunch of ingredients together, the taste still depends on the right measurement and combination. Ingredients:

  • 1½ cups of white cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1½ cups of yellow cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 jar (4 ounces) of diced pimientos, drained
  • 1/3 cup of mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of minced garlic, optional
  • ½ teaspoon or to taste of cayenne powder
  • ½ teaspoon or to taste of salt
  • ½ teaspoon or to taste of pepper
  • Dash of hot sauce, optional

Directions:

Step 1

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the cheddar cheeses, pimientos, mayonnaise (Duke’s Mayo is a southern classic but you can still use whichever you prefer), Worcestershire sauce, garlic (this is an optional ingredient, if it’s not to your liking then you can skip), cayenne (you can substitute this to paprika for a milder version), salt, and pepper.

Step 2

Gently stir and fold the mixture together until they are well combined and uniform. Taste and adjust for salt and pepper if needed. You can also add in a dash or two of hot sauce (Crystal or Tabasco is recommended), depending on your preference. Transfer to a sealed container, then store it in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving to allow the flavors to develop.
